Students Fight Hunger, Build Community in South Bronx

DSC03915Twenty-two Students for Service volunteers and their mentors joined forces with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH) and the Caldwell Temple Soup Kitchen in the South Bronx to provide 450 healthy, home-cooked meals and provide a welcoming environment to at-risk  residents of the local community.  The teen volunteers also canvassed the neighborhood answering questions and providing information about food assistance programs, specifically school breakfast, that will help fight food insecurity and malnutrition among local children.
